Amcol Scotland Ltd.

Safeguarding and Child Protection

We take the care, safety and wellbeing of all children extremely seriously and are fully committed to protecting them from harm, abuse and exploitation at all times. We recognise that every child has the right to grow up in a warm, nurturing, stimulating and safe environment.

We work in partnership with children, families and relevant professionals to promote children’s wellbeing in line with current Scottish and UK legislation and national child protection guidance.

Duty to Report

All staff have a professional and contractual responsibility to report any concerns or suspicions of child abuse or neglect. We follow national child protection guidance for Scotland and comply with relevant Scottish and UK laws, including safeguarding and wellbeing legislation.

Where there are concerns about a child’s safety or wellbeing, staff will follow established child protection procedures and share information with appropriate agencies to ensure children are protected and supported.

We understand the sensitive nature of safeguarding matters and as such confidentiality is respected at all times and information is only shared with professionals who have a legal and safeguarding responsibility to protect and support the child.

All staff working directly with children receive regular Child Protection training and updates to ensure they remain confident, knowledgeable and vigilant in keeping children safe.

Keeping Children Safe

Our planning and daily practice take full account of each child’s individual social, emotional and personal circumstances. We promote children’s Health and Wellbeing and support them in developing awareness of personal safety in an age-appropriate way.

We are committed to maintaining a strong safeguarding culture across all of our nurseries. Through nurturing relationships, clear policies and ongoing staff development, we continually strive to promote the health, welfare and rights of every child in our care.
